Wild Boise
For all the jokes about Idaho being a backwater, Boise is, believe it or not, a sort of real city. A couple nights ago I was outside on my kind-of-patio around 11 p.m. when a red fox walked out of the bushes about five feet from me. It looked me over for a few seconds and sauntered off across the street. This is the second nature encounter at my apartment—- we once had a treed raccoon in our front yard.
Between that, hitting a deer within the city limits a few weeks ago and a recent cougar spotting near downtown I feel a creepy "Day of the Animals" vibe.

It kind of gives me a 12 Monkeys vibe, you know, humans living in subterranean tunnels, animals roaming the streets of New York. Very hip.
Haven't seen any fox around lately... you're lucky. :) It is kind of wild living in a city where geese, deer, etc. wander around at random moments, though.
